Narendra Modi gave a political surprise by removing a new name from the portfolio

Anandiben Patel's confidant Bhupendra Patel handed over the reins of Gujarat: All day long political drama went on to find a new Chief Minister, Patel was happy

Ahmedabad: After the resignation of Vijay Rupani, there was a lot of suspense over who will be the next Chief Minister of Gujarat. Many political speculations finally came to an end on Sunday evening. Amid speculation about the names of the CM's race contenders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again shocked not only BJP leaders but also political pundits by announcing a surprising name as the new Chief Minister of Gujarat.

A meeting of BJP MLAs was held in Kamalam on Sunday afternoon. In which Patidar MLA Bhupendra Patel of Ghatlodia assembly constituency of Ahmedabad city coming in Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency was chosen as the Chief Minister.

BJP MLAs and leaders were shocked when Bhupendra Patel, a junior and former Chief Minister Anandiben Patel's confidante, was elected as the 17th Chief Minister of Gujarat. In short, following the forthcoming assembly elections, Patidar power has been running in Gujarat which has made Patel happy.

On Saturday, Vijay Rupani abruptly resigned as the Chief Minister, which caused a stir in Gujarat politics. Following this political incident, there was a lot of political speculation about the new Chief Minister.

The names of Nitin Patel, Purshottam Rupala, Mansukh Mandvia, CR Patil, Praful Patel, RC Faldu were in the CM race. The BJP high command had hastily sent central inspectors Narendrasinh Tomar and Praful Joshi to Gandhinagar to select the chief minister's name.

The two leaders arrived in Ahmedabad on a charter plane at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The observers reached the bungalow of BJP state president CR Patil at Gandhinagar directly from the airport where a closed-door meeting was held between leaders including BJP state in-charge Bhupendra Yadav.

As soon as the meeting was over, all the BJP MLAs were instructed to reach Kamalam by 2 pm. The BJP's core committee met in Kamalam. In this meeting, the BJP leaders brainstormed about the name of the new Chief Minister. Following the important meeting for the new chief minister, a tight police cordon was set up around Kamalam.

A meeting of MLAs was held at 3 pm in which Chief Minister Vijay Rupani himself proposed the name of Ghatlodia MLA Bhupendra Patel. At one stage, the BJP MLAs sitting in the hall were shocked to hear this name.

Bhupendra Patel, a confidant of Anandiben Patel, was announced as the new chief minister, who was hailed by BJP MLAs. There was an election-like atmosphere in Kamalam. Speculation over who will be the next chief minister has finally come to an end.

The BJP high command again cast a pall over Kadva Patidar. It was true that Patidar would be made the Chief Minister, but the names of the contenders who were being discussed as the new Chief Minister, which came up with a completely unknown name, proved the political pundits wrong.

After the announcement of his name as the Chief Minister, senior BJP leaders, including Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, went directly to meet the Governor and demanded the formation of a Jaya government. Bhupendra Patel will be sworn in as Chief Minister in the capital Gandhinagar on Monday. Now there is speculation as to who will be the new cabinet minister.

After the swearing in of the cabinet: Uncertainty over the post of Deputy Chief Minister

Gandhinagar: BJP MLA Bhupendra Patel will be sworn in as the 17th Chief Minister of the state in Gandhinagar tomorrow. Only his solo swearing-in ceremony has been held, while the swearing-in of the cabinet will be held by discussing the names with the party leaders.

Before the swearing-in ceremony, Bhupendra Patel met Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvarta and submitted a letter demanding the formation of a new government under his leadership. Acting Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, BJP state president CR Patil, central observers Bhupendra Yadav, Narendrasinh Tomar, Prahlad Joshi and BJP state leaders as well as MPs were present on the occasion.

The party's state president CR Patil told the media that only Bhupendra Patel would be sworn in tomorrow while the cabinet swearing-in would be done in two days after finalizing the names in a discussion with Modi. Speculation has started that there will be two Deputy Chief Ministers in Gujarat with a new Chief Minister.

Party sources were saying that an attempt would be made to represent caste and region in Gujarat by setting up two Deputy Chief Minister posts like in Uttar Pradesh but the question was hanging in the air after a day-long discussion in Kamalam.

However, in response to a question on whether there would be a post of Deputy Chief Minister in Gujarat, Patil said there was no discussion on the post of Deputy Chief Minister in today's core group meeting or meeting with MLAs.

Bhupendra Patel had no idea that he would become CM

AHMEDABAD: Bhupendra Patel did not even anticipate an unexpected turn in his political career on Sunday afternoon. He had planted a tree on the BRTS route in Bopal in Ahmedabad and in the afternoon he got the fruits of the Chief Minister's post. This is called the sacrifice of destiny ...

The search for a new Gujarat chief minister was in full swing and a series of meetings of senior BJP leaders was underway. On Sunday morning in Bopal, Bhupendra Patel addressed the workers of the organization and apprised them of the details of the program to be organized in the coming days. He also dug a pit with a shovel and planted a tree.

In the afternoon, Bhupendra Patel reached Kamalam in a blue robe and white trousers. Arriving to attend the MLAs' meeting, Bhupendra Patel was unaware till the very last moment that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had sent two observers to Gandhinagar to take his name as the new Chief Minister.

Bhupendra Patel was sitting in the last row in the hall of the MLAs' meeting but when Vijay Rupani himself announced the name of Bhupendra Patel as the new Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel himself was shocked. Two days ago, Bhupendra Patel was arranged in the last row in the Sardar Dham program. Despite the program organized by the Patidars, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, who was gentle and simple, sat among the masses.
