During a vaccination camp at a school in Sullia taluka of Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, a 15-year-old daily laborer was given two doses of Covishield in a matter of minutes.

Upon learning of the incident, he was kept under observation for three hours and then sent home. The incident happened on Wednesday. Since then, health officials have been visiting the laborer's home every day to check on his health. However, even after two days, no adverse effect was seen on his health, said the taluka health officer. B Nandkumar has stated.

A daily laborer named K Arrun went to get the vaccine on Wednesday. He was given the first dose of Covishield vaccine at a vaccination camp at Duggalkada High School in Sullia taluka.

He stayed in the room for a while after receiving the vaccine. A few minutes later he was given another dodge by the same staff. However he did not know that he had been given the first dose just minutes before.

Dr. Nandkumar said the mistake was made because instead of leaving the room after the first vaccination, he stayed there. He was given two doses at once. Even the nurse who gave the vaccine could not identify the laborer because of the mask.
