Several people drowned in various parts of the country on Sunday during the dismantling of the Ganesh statue. Five children drowned during the dispersal on Mumbai's Versova beach, two of whom were rescued. Similarly, 5 devotees drowned in Kalyani river at Barabanki in UP.

A major tragedy occurred during the dismantling of the idol at Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh. During the dismantling of the Ganesh idol, 5 devotees including a woman and 4 men drowned in the river Kalyani.

4 children including relatives drowned in Bhind

Four children who went down to bathe in the lake after Ganesh discharge at Bhind have died due to drowning. The deceased also included 2 siblings. During the dispersal, the children tried to bathe in the lake near Van Khandeshwar temple but were stopped by their families. However, after the family left, the children took a dip in the water and drowned in the deep water. All the children ranged in age from 10 to 12 and had 2 siblings.

Death of a young man in MP's Rajgarh

A 17-year-old youth was killed in Kacharia village in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. He died after slipping and falling into a well while dismantling the idol.
