China will invest ૫ 15 billion in Pakistan's petrochemical sector. According to official media, the investment will be made in the petrochemical sector of Gwadar and in the energy pipeline project from Gwadar to China.

However, it is not yet clear whether the investment is part of the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The CPEC has launched a number of projects in the 50 billion project launched in 2015.

Talking to the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), Pakistan's official news agency, Board of Investment Secretary Fareha Mazhar said Chinese companies were ready to invest ૫ 15 billion in Pakistan's petrochemical sector.

Mazhar further said that Chinese companies would invest in Gwadar's petrochemical sector. This includes the project of energy pipeline from Gwadar to China. He said bilateral talks were underway to invest in various Chinese projects in Pakistan.

He hoped that in the future, Chinese companies would also invest in Pakistan's energy, agriculture, tourism and other sectors. The Gwadar port, part of the CPEC, is an important part of the Pakistan-China oil and gas pipeline.
