Biden will appoint an Indian-American to a key position in the Pentagon

US President Joe Biden has expressed interest in appointing Ashish Wazirani, an Indian-American management adviser, to a key position at the Pentagon. Wazirani will be nominated for the post of Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness in the Department of Defense.

He is currently the Principal of ATU Strategies, LLC. Where he advises commercial and non-profit, high growth and large enterprises for development, implementation and implementation of development policies.

Most recently, Wazira was the Executive Director and CEO of the National Military Family Association (NMFA). During his tenure, NMFA received a four-star charity rating.

Prior to joining NMFA, he was in the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) where he worked on development and programming.

According to the White House, Wazira was a submarine officer in the US Navy from 18 to 19. Wazirani holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University. He then earned a postgraduate degree in engineering. He then also did an MBA.
