Air Marshal Vivekaram Chaudhary will take over as the new Chief of the Indian Air Force. Current President R.K.S. Bhadauria is retiring on September 30. He will be followed by Vivekaram Chaudhary as the new chief. He is currently serving as the Vice Chief of Air Staff.
The Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that the current chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal R.K. S. Bhadauria's term is coming to an end on September 30, 2021. The central government has selected a new president of the Air Force as Bhadauria's successor. The ministry said Vivekram Chaudhary, the current vice chief of the Air Force, has been appointed as the next chief of air staff.

Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhary replaced Air Marshal Harjeet Singh Arora as Vice Chief of Air Staff on July 1 this year. He had earlier served as Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force's Western Air Command (WAC), which is responsible for the security of the country's airspace in various parts of North India, including the sensitive Ladakh region. Air Marshal Chaudhary, a former student of the National Defense Academy, joined the Air Force's Fighter Street on December 4, 19. In a six-year career, Chaudhary has flown fighter planes such as the MiG-21, MiG-2MF, MiG-2 and Sukhoi-20 MKI and has a flying experience of more than 2,500 hours.
