27 thousand new cases of corona in 24 hours, 219 deaths

The situation in Kerala is still dire, with 15,000 cases in 24 hours and more than 99 deaths, 28,000 recovering

New Delhi: More than 750 million doses of corona vaccine have been given in India so far, according to figures released by the health ministry. The states and Union Territories where all adults have been given the first dose of the vaccine include Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Ladakh and Lakshadweep.

On the other hand, 27,254 new cases of corona have been reported and 219 people have lost their lives in 24 hours. While the number of active cases has come down to 3.74 lakh, it has come down to more than 10,000 in the last 24 hours. With a further 219 deaths, the total death toll has risen to 4.42 lakh. Corona's daily cases have been below 50,000 for the past 78 days.

12 lakh tests of Corona were done on Sunday. As a result, the total number of Tests crossed 54.30 crore. Of the more than 27,000 new cases, 15,000 are from bananas alone while 99 more have been reported in the state. In Kerala, the total number of corona cases has reached close to 44 lakh and the death toll has crossed 22,000.

In Kerala, however, 28,000 people were cured of corona on Sunday. The Union Aviation Ministry has approved the use of drones in areas where vaccines are currently being delivered. This approval is currently only for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Manipur and Nagaland. Following which, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) will be able to deliver the vaccine to these areas with the help of drones.

A study released by The Lancet claims that under the current circumstances, people do not need to be given a booster dose of the corona vaccine. This is because the dose given has a very good effect. The vaccine is currently proving effective in Delta or Alpa variants, so there is no need to give Covin vaccine boosters. The World Health Organization (WHO) has congratulated India for providing 75 crore doses of the vaccine.
