50 thousand compensation to the family of those who died from corona: Center


- The Central Government filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court

- Compensation will be received from Aadhaar link within 30 days of providing proof of death including corona for compensation.

- Earlier, the Supreme Court had demanded Rs 4 lakh as compensation

- Rs. Compensation of Rs 50,000 will have to be given from the State Disaster Response Fund

New Delhi: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has recommended Rs 50,000 assistance to the families of those who lost their lives in the Koro epidemic. This information was given by the Central Government to the Supreme Court. There have been a number of petitions in the Supreme Court seeking help for Koro's victims.

The Center has told the Supreme Court that the families of all those killed in the corona will be compensated Rs 50,000. The central government has filed an affidavit in this regard in the Supreme Court. In which the government said it was recommended by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to provide assistance to Korona victims.

The Center also informed the Supreme Court about the compensation process. Any family member who has died due to corona can claim this compensation. For which a special form will be given. With which the necessary evidence must be attached. Evidence also includes a death certificate. This death certificate should also state that the death was caused by a corona.

The central government told the apex court that the financial assistance would also be given to those who have died due to corona and to the families of those who will die from corona in the future.

There were several petitions in the Supreme Court seeking this compensation. Earlier, the central government had refused to provide compensation. However, the apex court said the National Disaster Management Authority should consider the compensation.

This compensation will have to be provided by the state governments from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF). Compensation must be provided within 30 days of any required documents being submitted to the Authority by the claimant's family. This compensation will be given in the same manner as the benefit given by the government through Aadhaar Link.

The state government will have to issue a special form for this. The whole process of giving compensation will be made easier for the people. The third wave of Corona is likely to come. The Center had told the apex court that it was not possible to estimate how much money would be behind the compensation.

Earlier, the apex court had sought Rs 4 lakh from the family of the deceased. However, the apex court later said that it could not order such compensation but could recommend as much compensation as possible. After which the central government is ready for this compensation.
