WASHINGTON: The total number of corona cases rose to 229,494,607 as more than two million new corona cases were reported worldwide, while the total death toll from the corona rose to 47,08,420 with 3,126 deaths. The total number of corona cases in the USA is 42,911,206 while the death toll is 6,92,000.

The corona epidemic in the USA, the world's most powerful and affluent country, has not abated, the number of daily corona cases has dropped but fears of a corona epidemic are re-emerging, with an average of 2,000 deaths a day. Russia and Brazil also killed 793 and 935 people in a single day, respectively.

The New York Times reported that the average number of daily cases in Corona last week was more than two thousand. Leading infectious disease specialist Dr. Enruthoni Focci said the Delta variant was spreading rapidly among children.

He said people would need to be given boosterdoses. Pfizer, meanwhile, said its corona vaccine has been shown to be effective in children between the ages of five and eleven and that they will receive US government approval for this age group by the end of this month.

Pfizer corona vaccine is currently available to people over the age of twelve. In most western countries, children under the age of twelve are not vaccinated against corona. But Cuba and China have also allowed two- and three-year-olds to be vaccinated against their corona, respectively.

Brazil ranks third in the world in terms of the total number of corona cases and the situation is getting worse. On Saturday, 1.5 million new cases of corona were reported in Brazil, with 935 deaths. A total of 2.5 million cases of corona have been reported in Brazil and about six million people have died.

In Russia, too, the total number of cases is close to 73 lakh, with more than 20,000 new cases of corona being reported in a single day. In Russia, 793 people were killed in a single day. The death toll from the corona in Russia has risen to more than 1.93. In France, too, the total number of cases has risen to more than seven million, with 5814 new cases of corona being reported.

Meanwhile, the famous Lancet magazine has published an open letter from 16 international scientists demanding a transparent investigation into the origin of the Corona epidemic. Lancet took a U-turn and said that no direct evidence of the origin of the corona virus has been found so the suspicion that it was leaked from the laboratory cannot be ruled out.

The same lenset rejected the lab leak theory a year and a half ago. Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, meanwhile, has announced a fortnight's lockdown.
