Officials of the Indian Golden Union, who reached the Mirzapur District Collectorate, have written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding renaming of Mirzapur Janpad as Vindhyachal Nagar. The Indian Gold Federation had asked the district to be renamed after Vindhyachal. Awadhesh Singh, national vice-president of the Indian Gold Federation, said he had reached the DM's office and demanded that Mirzapur be renamed Vindhyachal Nagar or Vindhyachal Dham.
