In Bihar, only 49 cases of triple divorce were reported. At the event, Union Minister Smriti Irani said that this Muslim Women's Rights Day is to salute the spirit and struggle of Muslim women.

The law increased the difficulty for women

Which does not match the fact as a whole. The facts of the Muslim community that are coming before us. This indicates that cases of domestic violence against Muslim women have been on the rise since the law was enacted.

Law is being abused: Shaista

Shaista Amber, chairperson of the All India Muslim Women's Personal Law Board, which fights against triple divorce, says triple divorce has declined since the law came into force. Triple divorce cases are no longer heard on a daily basis. But it is coming up in another way. Men used to misuse triple divorce before now women are using the new law for no reason. Recently, some such cases have come up. In which the young woman and her family used the Triple Divorce Act as a weapon against the young man. So the government also needs to consider to prevent the law from being abused.
