Two ITBP jawans were killed in a Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh

A Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) assistant commandant and his accomplices were killed in a Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district on Friday, a senior police official said. Bastar Range IG Sundarraj said the attack took place in the afternoon near the Kadmeta camp of the 8th Battalion of the ITBP under the Chhotedongar police station. Meanwhile, security forces in Jharkhand arrested fierce Maoist Pradyumna Sharma.

According to preliminary information, a detachment of the 8th Battalion of the ITBP was 200 meters away from the camp when the Naxals attacked Jawano. Sudhakar Shinde, Assistant Commandant, 8th Battalion, ITBP and Gurmukh Singh, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) were killed in the attack.

He said the Naxals looted an AK-4 rifle, two bulletproof jackets and a wireless set and fled after the attack. An additional team immediately rushed to the spot following the incident.
