Two suicide bombings outside Kabul's Hamid Karzai airport on Thursday night killed 12 people and wounded more than 50, amid warnings from the United States, Britain and Australia about the Islamic State (IS) terrorist attack on the airport. The dead included children and women, and the death toll is expected to rise. The injured included Afghan nationals as well as some Americans. Earlier, the US had warned that the ISIS terrorist organization ISIS-Khorasan (K) was plotting to attack Kabul airport. ISIS, meanwhile, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Taliban on Thursday detained former President Hamid Karzai and former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah.

Many countries around the world, including the United States, Britain and India, are campaigning to airlift thousands of people from war-torn Afghanistan, including their nationals, to Kabul airport, and thousands of Afghans have gathered outside Kabul airport to flee the country for fear of Taliban rule. Warned of a terrorist attack. The U.S. warning came true Thursday night.

Two IS suicide bombings have caused heartbreaking scenes at Kabul airport. IS militants also fired indiscriminately at people standing outside the airport. ISIS-Khorasan is opposed to peace talks between the US and the Taliban. Despite the attacks outside the airport, thousands of Afghans are hoping to seek refuge abroad.

British Armed Forces Minister James Happy said thousands of Afghans had gathered outside Kabul airport to flee the country as sources close to the Islamic State group plotted to carry out an Islamic State (IS) terrorist attack in Afghanistan. American intelligence agencies have also warned that IS terrorists could carry out suicide or car bomb attacks on Kabul airport. In addition, European countries, including the United States and Britain, have instructed their citizens to move to a safe place outside Kabul airport.

Significantly, the Taliban have also confirmed the warnings from the United States and Britain. The Taliban, meanwhile, have detained former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and former foreign minister and chairman of the National Reconciliation Council, Abdullah Abdullah, in Kabul. The Taliban have also removed the security of both senior leaders. The two leaders were involved in talks with the Taliban to form a new government in Afghanistan. A Taliban spokesman, meanwhile, denied reports that the two leaders had been detained.

Citing CNN reports, the Russian news agency Sputnik said the Taliban had also seized the cars of both leaders. Hamid Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah are now completely dependent on the Taliban. Earlier this week, the Taliban included Karzai and Abdullah and Taliban co-founder Abdul Gani Baradar in its 13-member governing council in Afghanistan. The Taliban government in Afghanistan will also include Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, Mullah Mohammad Yaqub, son of Taliban founder Mullah Omar, and Khalil Haqqani, the most senior member of the Haqqani network.

Afghanistan, meanwhile, is in a state of chaos following the Taliban's takeover. Thousands of people have gathered outside Kabul airport in the hope that the United States and European countries will expel them from Afghanistan. As a result, food prices are skyrocketing. An Afghan national said food and water were being sold at very high prices.

At the Kabul airport, a bottle of water costs િકન 50, or about રૂપિયા 5,000, and a plate of rice costs અમેર 100, or about ૭ 2,500. Surprisingly, these items are being sold not in Afghan currency but in dollars. The crowds here are so great that the condition of women and children has become pitiable. Yet people have been waiting for hours and days for their turn to come.
