The Sensex crossed 54000 for the first time

New Delhi, 4 August 2021, Wednesday

Amid a positive trend in global markets, the Sensex touched 54,000 for the first time today on the back of gains in major cities like Infosys, HDFC and ICICI Bank.

The Sensex gained 400 points after the market opened and touched an all-time high of 54,256 points, crossing the 54,000 mark.

The Nifty, on the other hand, rose by 116.10 points and reached an all-time high of 16,246 points.

Shares of Tata Steel also rose in the Sensex today. Apart from banks, shares of Dr Reddy's, Infosys and Reliance Industries also rose today.

Shares of Bharti Airtel, Nestle India, SBI, HUL and Ultratrack Cement declined today.

In the last session, the Sensex rose 872 points to 53823 and the Nifty closed 245.60 points higher at 16130 points. After that, the stock market remained bullish even today.
