The apex court, while hearing an application on Monday, said the court did not want to give a stay on compulsory vaccination at a time when people in India are already reluctant to vaccinate against the corona virus and the government is also delaying vaccination under the vaccination program.

Judges l. A bench of Nageshwar Rao and Rishikesh Roy heard a petition filed by Jacob Puliyal, a former member of the National Technical Advisory Group, seeking disclosure of clinical trial statistics of the corona vaccine as well as a stay on compulsory vaccination. The petition sought directions to the Center to disclose the statistics of adverse effects of Corona vaccine on the people. The Supreme Court had refused to place an interim stay on compulsory vaccination. But the Center, the Ministry of Health, ICMR and vaccine manufacturers have been asked to respond by sending notices regarding the release of trial data of Corona vaccine.

On the other hand, foreign nationals residing in India will also be able to get corona vaccine by registering on the Co-Win portal. The Union Ministry of Health on Monday decided to allow foreign nationals to register on Covin. Meanwhile, 4.5 new cases of corona were reported in the country on Monday and seven more patients died. With this, the total number of cases of corona crossed 2.15 crore while the death toll rose to more than 2.4 lakh. The number of active cases dropped to 2.08 lakh. A total of more than 2.11 crore patients have been cured in the country so far.
