Mumbai: Shiv Sainiks today staged an agitation by smashing the sign board of 'Adani Airport' at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The Shiv Sena's agitation caused a stir and an immediate explanation was given by the Adani group regarding the sign board.

Recently, control of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport was handed over to Adani Group from GVK. Then a sign board 'Adani Airport' was put up at the airport.

Aiming at him, Shiv Sainiks struck here today and smashed the sign board of Adani Airport chanting the name of Shivaji Maharaj. By removing Shivaji Maharaj's name, the Adani group hinted that it would never be tolerated to give its name to the airport.

Considering all these backgrounds and to avoid any untoward incident, the Adani group immediately gave an explanation. Adani Airport Holding Ltd. after the Shiv Sena agitation. A company spokesman issued a statement clarifying the company's role. He said that the name of 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport' has not been changed.
