New Delhi: On the eve of the 7th year of independence, President Ramnath Kovinde congratulated the country and reminded the roaring MPs of their responsibilities. He said Parliament is the temple of democracy, where the work of the people has to be done through debate, controversy and dialogue.

Linking the new parliament building to the country's progress, he said the new parliament building would show respect for heritage and the ability to keep pace with the contemporary world. The President's remarks were significant as the monsoon session of Parliament just two days ago was marred by loud hustle and bustle of the opposition. "Our democracy is based on a parliamentary system," he said. Parliament is the temple of democracy. It is a platform for resolving issues through debate, controversy and dialogue on important issues involving the public for the service of the public.

President Ramnath Kovinde in his national anthem praised the medal winning athletes at the Tokyo Olympics. He highlighted the performance of women athletes in the Olympics and said that women are showing their talent in fields ranging from laboratories to farms. The success of the girls is a testament to the future of developed India. The President said that a process of deliberation has begun with those who believe in law and order in Jammu and Kashmir.

A ray of nine awakenings is being seen here. He appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and especially the youth to take advantage of it to fulfill their aspirations.
