Pakistan's economic situation worsens: PM rents out residence

Islamabad: Pakistan's economic situation is deteriorating. The situation has become so bad that Prime Minister Imran Khan's official residence has been forced to be rented out. The Pak government, which is facing an economic crisis, will cover the cost by renting the Prime Minister's official residence. The prime minister's residence is in Islamabad and it has now been officially announced that it will be rented out.

Earlier, in August 2019, Pakistan's Tehreek-e-Insaf party announced the conversion of the Prime Minister's residence into a university. Now the same party is in power. Imran Khan vacated the house after announcing the conversion of the Prime Minister's residence into a university. However now the government has changed its intention. According to a local TV report, the federal government will now rent the building instead of converting it into a university. The government will collect the amount to cover the expenses through it. According to local media, the building will be rented out to the people to organize cultural, fashion, educational and other events.

Two committees have been formed to rent out the Prime Minister's residence. These committees will ensure that the discipline and dignity of the Prime Minister's residence is maintained during planning. Money can be obtained by renting a meeting hall of the Prime Minister's residence, two guest wings and a loan.

It was only when Imran Khan took office that he said the government did not have the money for welfare programs. Pak's economy has been hit by 19 billion since Imran Khan came to power. The government has cut spending to get the country's economy back on track but has not had much of an impact.
