Mamata will have to leave Nandigram and win another seat


Nandigram's verdict will come on November 15

Mamata will have to contest elections before November 5, if she is late, she will have to resign

Nandigram: The hearing in the Nandigram case in West Bengal has been adjourned till November 15. As soon as the hearing was adjourned, it was proved that Mamata Banerjee would have to win from another seat to remain as the Chief Minister.

Currently, Mamata Banerjee has 85 days left to contest from any other seat. The Trinamool Congress is appealing to the Election Commission to hold by-elections on all the vacant seats. Mamata Banerjee was defeated at the Nandigram seat. After which Nandigram's case reached the Kolkata High Court alleging rigging in the counting of votes.

The trial is set to begin on November 15. If Mamata is to remain as chief minister, she will have to win the assembly elections before November 5. The TMC fears that Mamata will have to resign if the by-elections are delayed due to the Koro epidemic.

Currently, the Bhawanipur seat for Mamata Banerjee has been vacated by TMC MLA Shobhandev Chattopadhyay. This is Mamata Banerjee's traditional seat but this time she decided to contest from Nandigram where she lost to BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari.
