One more feather will be added to ISRO's Yashkalgi
Natural disasters such as floods and hurricanes will also be closely watched
Sriharikota: The 26-hour countdown to launch the GSLV-F-10 rocket into space with the Earth Observation Satellite on its back began on Wednesday, the Indian Space and Research Organization (ISRO) said.
This will be its second launch in 2021 after ISRO successfully launched Brazil's Earth observation satellite Amazonia-1 and 18 other satellites into space last February. The countdown to the launch of GSLV-F10 EOS-03, which was launched into space from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota, began at 3.43 pm on Wednesday.
With the help of this rocket, the satellite will send real time pictures of the entire country and its borders. In addition, the satellite will monitor natural disasters. The Earth Observation Satellite will be floated in a geosynchronous transfer orbit by the GSLV-F10 rocket.
The satellite will then be stabilized in space with the help of a propulsion system mounted on it, the space agency, headquartered in Bangalore, said in another statement. The agency further said that the process of refueling the rocket's propulsion system has been completed. It will be launched into space at 5.43 am from Sriharikota's second launch pad.
