Former CM of Uttar Pradesh Kalyan Singh has been on ventilator for several days

Former CM of Uttar Pradesh and former Governor of Rajasthan Pal Kalyan Singh passed away tonight at the age of 89 at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow. He had been hospitalized since July 4. Doctors said he died of sepsis and multi-organ failure.

State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today canceled his visit to Gorakhpur and reached the hospital to inquire about his whereabouts. The hospital said he was kept in the critical care ICU. A team of professors from various departments including critical care, neurology, urology, nephrology, endocrinology of the institute were engaged in his treatment. They had been on the ventilator for several days.

Yogi went to the ICU and saw the former CM. Interacted with medical experts. Director Pro. RK Dhiman said the condition of the former chief minister is serious.

It may be mentioned here that PM Narendra Modi also expressed concern over his ill health.
