New delhi date. Thursday 12 August 2021

Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Yadav is set to face legal action once again in the fodder scam case. However, a bench of CBI special judge SK Shashini on Wednesday dismissed the plea of 77 accused, including Lalu Prasad Yadav, saying the hearing should be adjourned till the physical court opens. The judge said the case would now be heard on a day-to-day basis from August 13.

Lalu Prasad Yadav's counsel heard the case through physical means, on which the petition was filed, where the CBI had also filed a rewinder in protest. The court, after hearing both the parties, rejected the plea of Lalu Prasad Yadav's counsel. The court said both options are open for discussion in the case. Those who wish to discuss the virtual mode can view and discuss the document on a court order. Anyone who wants to discuss through physical means do so physically but only five people will be present during this discussion.

The accused made this argument

The 77 accused, including Lalu, had pleaded on the issue that the hearing be adjourned till the start of the physical court. Which has more defendants and is still at risk of corona. Defendants said in the application that the hearing could not be held properly in virtual mode so the hearing should be avoided until the end of the corona and the opening of the physical court.
