Controversial statement by Congress MLA: Don't give money to tribals, drink alcohol

Jundal had earlier torn his own kurta in the assembly complex

New Delhi: Congress MLA Babu Jandel, known for making various and controversial statements, has once again made a controversial statement. Importantly, Babu Jandel, a Congress MLA from Sheopur, made the statement while Union Minister Narendra Tomar was present on the dais.

Jundel demanded a relief package from the Center for the flood-affected areas of the state. But he said the tribals should be given houses, not money, as compensation. If money is put in his bank account, he will drink it.

Jundel's statement is going viral on social media. In fact, Union Agriculture Minister and MP from the area Narendrasinh Tomar had reached Basod village in Sheopur district to know the condition of the flood victims. Congress MLA Jundel was also on stage at the event.

Babu Jandel praised the first Union Minister on stage. He said Uttarakhand was the worst hit state in India. Therefore, I demand a special relief package from the Central Government. He said the government should not put money in the accounts of the flood-affected tribals, but instead build them pucca houses. If the government puts money in the account, this tribal will take it out and drink alcohol.

Babu Jandel thus remains in the discussion for his statements and performances. He had protested in the last few days by tearing his kurto in the assembly complex on the issue of floods.
