Caste-based census will be conducted in Bihar, decision in Modi's hands

If the Center does not accept our demand, we are ready for a caste-based census: Nitish's claim

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is going to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with representatives of 10 parties in the Bihar Assembly. The meeting on Monday will focus on gender-based census. In it, Nitish Kumar has announced that he is preparing to conduct a caste-based census in the state.

"We will first meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and appeal for a caste-based census to be conducted all over India," Kumar said. If the government is ready to do so, everyone will benefit.

But if the central government is not ready, then we will talk to the citizens of Bihar and then conduct a caste-based census. Nitish Kumar said that he has been given time to meet PM Modi at 11 am on Monday. We will be accompanied by representatives from 10 parties in Bihar.

We will present to PM Modi all our demands and views on the caste-based census. There will be positive talks on this but it is PM Modi's right to take a decision. The Chief Minister said that if a caste based census was conducted in the whole country, it would be of great benefit.
