Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists nabbed from Jammu, arms seized from Poonch, probe launched in Samba

Srinagar: A BJP sarpanch and his wife were killed by terrorists in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. Ghulam Rasool Dar, a sarpanch and BJP district Kisan Morcha president, was shot dead by militants. His wife was also injured. Both were rushed to hospital for treatment where they succumbed to their injuries.

Punjab has been placed on high alert after a tiffin box bomb was found in Amritsar, Punjab police said on Monday. The tiffin box bomb was dropped by Pakistan via a drone, which was fitted with two kilograms of RDX.

The tiffin box bomb was found in a village in Amritsar. The bomb was designed in such a way that it could be blasted from a remote device using a time mechanism. The entire Punjab has been placed on high alert following the incident and public bodies are being investigated with the help of Bomb Squad.

On the other hand, security forces arrested two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists from Jammu before the August 15 celebrations. The terrorists were on the verge of launching a major attack before the Independence Day celebrations. The terrorists are identified as Yasir Hussain and Usman Qadir. And both are affiliated with Hezbollah Mujahideen.

Large quantities of weapons were also seized from the terrorists. Meanwhile, the army has recovered a large quantity of weapons from Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir. They include two AK-47 rifles, a Chinese-made pistol, four grenades and two mobile phones. The search operation was launched on the basis of information that terrorists were hiding in the Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
