After Twitter, Facebook has also removed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's post which identified the parents of a 9-year-old rape victim in Delhi. According to sources, the social media forum has taken the action by calling the post of Congress leader a violation of its policies.

Sources said that Facebook has told the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) that it has removed Rahul Gandhi's related post from Facebook and Instagram. Instagram is a subsidiary of Facebook.

Just a few days ago, Facebook wrote a letter to Rahul Gandhi asking him to remove the post from Instagram. A Facebook spokesperson said via email that we decided to remove this post because it violates our policies.

Earlier, the NCPCRA had asked Facebook to take action against the former Congress president's Instagram profile for posting a photo of the victim's parents.

On August 4, the NCPCRA asked Twitter to take action on Rahul Gandhi's account in this regard. Twitter then locked Rahul Gandhi's account. However his account was unlocked on Saturday.
