Two arrested with Rs 2.25 crore worth of morphine in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh


The arresting police team was fined Rs. 20,000 prize

Barabanki: Two persons have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh's Barambaki district with morphine worth Rs 2 crore. The arrest was made at the Chokaghat railway crossing on Barabanki Road on a tip-off, officials said.

A total of 2.25 kg of morphine was seized from the two arrested persons. Its value in the international market is estimated at Rs 2.25 crore. In addition, Rs 2.10 lakh worth of coda and a luxury car were seized from the two persons. Ramnagar Police and Narcotics Control Bureau have arrested Mohammad Imran and Wahid Ali.

According to police, the two accused have named Taj Mohammad Bansa as the main drug smuggler. He further said that they were delivering the smuggled drugs to Gonda, Behrich and Balrampur. Barabanki SP Yamuna Prasad has announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for the arresting police team.
