The government is ready to talk about anything except repealing agricultural laws

New Delhi: The farmers' protest against the agricultural law in the country is still going on. How many times has the central government failed to say yes to discussions with farmers. Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Narendra Tomar, who arrived in Gwalior on Thursday, said, "We have told the farmers 'unions that the government has told the farmers' unions that we are ready to discuss any provisions of the agriculture law except repeal of the law." He said this while talking to reporters there.

Tomar, who is in his constituency of Gwalior, told reporters that the government had enacted the law in the interest of farmers. So this law will not be withdrawn. The government is ready to negotiate any time the farmers' unions want to negotiate, but there is no question of withdrawing the law.

He said that the present agricultural law is the fruit of 30 years of hard work of agricultural scientists. That is why most of the farmers' organizations in the country are in favor of this law. Our government did its best to communicate with the protesting farmers' organizations. Eleven rounds of talks have taken place between the farmers' organizations and the government. But the law is not coming to their understanding and there is nothing wrong with the government.

It may be mentioned that all the three farmers' organizations are adamant on the demand for repeal of agricultural laws. Against this, the government says it is ready to amend it as needed. The central government has earlier hinted that the matter could move forward only if farmers' organizations should talk about other legal aspects besides repealing the law.
