Jinping discussed with troops near the Indian border, what he said about preparations for war

The Chinese president emphasized the need for Tibet's local forces to train troops, prepare for war and work for Tibet's long-term stability, prosperity and development. Accompanying him are high-ranking Chinese military officials arriving in Lhasa.

The Global Times reported that Jinping met with senior officials of the Chinese military's Tibet Command and vowed to fully strengthen the soldiers' training work and combat readiness.

The visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is visiting Tibet for the first time during his 10-year rule, is taking place in eastern Ladakh amid widespread military tensions between India and China.

China's state-run Xinhua news agency said President Xi Jinping had visited the Tibet Autonomous Region for the first time in the party's and the country's history to mark the 70th anniversary of Tibet's peaceful operation.

He praised the peaceful conduct of Tibet, and met with officials and members of various ethnic groups to express his goodwill to the Central Committee of his political party, Xinhua reported.
