Global warming and climate change threaten the world, including India

- Large crisis on Lakshadweep if sea level continues to rise

- Coastal areas could be submerged by rising water levels, worrisome conditions of small islands like Lakshadweep

New Delhi: Threats like global warming and climate change pose a major threat to the entire world. One of the biggest dangers is rising sea levels. This has led to a major crisis in the coastal areas and a migration situation may arise. Even India cannot escape the threat of rising sea levels. Because many states in the country are located on the coast. A recent study warns of this.

The study said that sea level in Lakshadweep, located near the west coast of India, could rise by 0.5 mm per year to 0.5 mm per year. The situation is that the rising sea level has put the entire island and its people in a dangerous position. This is the first research aimed at a particular Lakshadweep. In which a picture of future fears based on climate model predictions is clarified.

The study was conducted by a joint team of IIT Kharagpur's Architecture as well as Regional Planning and Ocean Engineering as well as Shipping Architecture. The Government of India's Science as well as Climate Change Program (CCP) also collaborated for this study. It is worth mentioning that Lakshadweep, a group of 7 islands, is also famous as a tourist destination. The threat posed by climate change and global warming has increased.
