Case of treason against more than 100 farmers in Haryana


Chandigarh: At a time when questions have been raised in the Supreme Court over the constitutionality of the sedition law, Sirsa police have registered a sedition case against more than 100 protesters, including farmer leader Harcharan Singh and Prahlad Singh, in connection with the attack on agitating farmers' car in Haryana's Deputy Speaker Ranbir Ganguly.

Vikram Singh, inspector-in-charge of the Civil Line police station, said 100 to 150 agitating farmers have been booked under various sections, including treason. The United Kisan Morcha, on the other hand, has criticized the farmers for being accused of treason. The agitating farmers have been falsely accused. The United Farmers Front will go to court on charges of treason.
