Border dispute: Case against Himant Biswa, Mizoram CM like Sarma

The two governments are facing this over the Assam-Mizoram border dispute. Tensions are high in both the states over violent clashes on the border. An FIR has been registered against Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma. Mizoram police have registered a case against Chief Minister Biswa Sarma on charges of conspiracy to commit murder.

In a previous case, Assam police had summoned six Mizoram officials. All were asked to appear at the Dholai police station on August 2. Assam Police has issued summons to Mizoram Police Deputy Commissioner and SP rank officers.

On July 26, there was a violent clash between Assam and Mizoram police. Seven Assam police personnel were killed in the incident. The allegations have been going on since the conflict and are being prosecuted by the Assam government. According to the allegation leveled by Mizoram, the border dispute started from Assam. The first firing was carried out by Assam and then Mizoram police responded.

According to Mizoram Chief Minister Joramthanga, Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma is like his brother and he will resolve the dispute peacefully.
