All German troops return from Afghanistan after 20 years



BERLIN: Germany has withdrawn all its troops from Afghanistan. Germany began withdrawing its troops from Afghanistan in May.

"After nearly 40 years of presence, the last German troops in our armed forces have withdrawn from Afghanistan," German Defense Minister Enegret Kramp Kerenbauer said in a statement. With this a historical chapter has come to an end. The last soldier of the German Armed Forces has now safely left Afghanistan. Thus, after twenty years, our most profound military mission abroad has come to an end.

The Twitter minister thanked the 1.5 lakh men and women who provided service there and said they should be proud of their service. He paid tribute to the soldiers killed and wounded during his presence in Afghanistan and said you will never forget.

According to the military, nine soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since 2001. The final troops were airlifted to Mazar-e-Sharif in northern Afghanistan on two German A300MS and US-C12 bases.

US President Biden has announced that he is withdrawing US troops from Afghanistan after 20 years. Germany then stepped up its homecoming campaign. In April, the German Defense Ministry announced that it planned to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan by early July.
