Eight months later the peasant movement has become aggressive again. The agitation on the Delhi border has now started at Jantar Mantar near Parliament. The farmers filled the farmer-parliament in Jantar Mantar and also made three speakers. The ongoing movement against agricultural law is likely to become more aggressive.
The ongoing peasant movement against the agricultural law has now become aggressive again. Farmers reached Jantar Mantar and staged protests. Not only that, in Jantar Mantar, the farmers held a farmers' parliament. The peasant agitators said that till the monsoon session begins in the parliament, the peasant-parliament will also be filled in Jantar Mantar every day.
"We will raise the issue outside Parliament. Opposition parties should be the voice of farmers and raise our issue in Parliament," said Rakesh Tiket, a farmer leader. In the evening after the national anthem the peasants completed the first day's peasant parliament. 500 farmers will come to Jantar Mantar every day and will go to Delhi border at night. 200 farmers were allowed to demonstrate in Jantar Mantar. The rest of the peasant protesters will protest from the Delhi border. The farmers' parliament has three speakers and three deputy speakers. Each farmer agitator will get 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the agitating farmers will present their party in opposition to the agricultural law.
"Our next station is Uttar Pradesh," said Prem Singh Bhangu, a farmer leader from Singhu Border. Farmers will play a key role in bringing down the BJP's stronghold in Uttar Pradesh. He added that the farmers were ready for talks, but no other condition would be accepted. Negotiations will only be possible if new agricultural laws are withdrawn. Earlier, there were 11 rounds of talks between the farmers' leaders and the government, but no agreement was reached.
Shiromani Akali Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal said there was no point in talks if the law was not repealed. About 300 farmers have died so far and the government should repeal the law.
Union Minister and BJP woman leader Meenakshi Lekhi's statement caused a stir. Meenakshi Lekhi had created controversy by calling the agitating farmers Mwali. Meenakshi Lekhi said that the protesters are not farmers, but madmen. Meenakshi Lekhi recalled the violence at the Red Fort and said that the protesters have a political agenda.
Replying to Meenakshi's letter, farmer leader Rakesh Tiket said that Mwali is the one who does not take any decision for the farmers. Such language of the BJP leader is very disappointing for the farmers. Such words are not worth speaking. Farmer leader Shivkumar Kakka said that Meenakshi Lekhi has insulted 200 million farmers in the country. If the farmers are mad, Meenakshi writes that farmers should not eat cooked food.
