A fire at a Corona hospital in Iraq has killed at least 64 people and injured more than 100 others

A fire at a Corona virus hospital in southern Iraq has killed at least 54 people, Iraqi media officials say in a statement. Authorities say more than 100 people have been killed in the blaze. The fire broke out at the Al Hussein Teaching Hospital in Nasiriyah. Relatives of the victim rushed to the hospital this morning after a fire broke out late last night.

Relatives of the hospitalized patients rushed to find their relatives. An eyewitness to the incident said the entire government system had collapsed. Who has to pay the price for that? Innocent people have to fall victim to this broken system. Earlier, officials said the fire was caused by an electric short circuit.

Officials did not give further details about the tragedy. Another official said the fire was caused by an explosion in an oxygen cylinder. However, the officials made the statement on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to reporters.

The new ward was formed just three months ago. Which had 70 beds. Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kidhami called an emergency meeting following the tragedy. It is noteworthy that this is the second time in Iraq that a hospital in Corona has caught fire. Earlier in April, a fire at Ibn al-Khatib Hospital killed 82 people.
