The Delta variant, the first to appear in India, is responsible for the second wave of the Corona

New Delhi, 4 June 2021 Friday

The study, conducted by the Indian SARS-Cove-to-Consortium on Genomics (INSACOG), added that the B.1.617 variant and its offspring B.1.617.2 led to a sharp rise in Corona cases. The migration-capacity of this new variant is 50 percent higher than the previous alpha variant (B.1.107).

INSACOG is a group of 10 national laboratories set up by the Centre's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare last year.

A does genomic sequencing. Circulating Covid-19 analyzes the virus, as well as determines the relationship between the epidemiological logical trend and the genomic variant.

Genomic variants of various viruses are a natural phenomenon and are found in almost all countries.

Who (World Health Organization - World Health Organization) said on Monday that the Covid-19 variant will now be identified with the Greek alphabet so that the nations where they were first found are not condemned. Thus, the covid variant B.1.617, first found in India, is divided into descendants of which B.1.617.1 variant of interest becomes Kappa.

B.1.617.2 variant is called delta.

According to the new system, the various variants will be known as the following, the British variant previously known as B.1.6.1.7 will now be known as Alpha, the variant B.1.351 that first appeared in South Africa will now be known as Beta, while the Brazilian variant will be known as P.1.

Delta variant B.1.617.2 can migrate rapidly. That means it could easily spread among the public, "Maria van Kerkhove, Hu's technical pioneer, told reporters about the Covid-19.
