Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asked a group of Jammu and Kashmir leaders to hold assembly elections after the completion of the new demarcation process in Jammu and Kashmir, People's Conference leader Muzaffar Hussain Beg said after a meeting with the Prime Minister. In a meeting with the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister said that he wanted to bridge the gap between Delhi and Delhi. He is committed to giving statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir is our priority. Assembly elections may be held immediately after the new delimitation procedure. The main focus of the meeting was to strengthen the democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting of all the 12 leaders of Jammu and Kashmir at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence in Delhi lasted for about three and a half hours. At the meeting, all the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir demanded the restoration of the status of the state which was removed in August 2016. The central government on August 8, 2016, removed the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 70 of the Constitution and divided Jammu and Kashmir as part of its reorganization. Was.

The Prime Minister emphasized that holding the Assembly elections as well as the successful conduct of the DDC elections is also his priority. Elections may be held in Jammu and Kashmir immediately after the completion of the new demarcation process. Overall most of the leaders expressed a desire for it. The Prime Minister stressed the need to work with them to strengthen democracy at the grassroots level and for the development of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister said that he wanted to bridge the gap between Delhi and Delhi.

The Prime Minister said that not a single death in Jammu and Kashmir is painful and it is our collective duty to protect our youth. He stressed that we need to give a chance to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and it will give a lot to our country.

The implementation of several pro-people initiatives on the development achieved by Jammu and Kashmir was discussed in the area. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the pace of development in Jammu and Kashmir and said that it was creating new hopes and aspirations among the people. When people experience corruption-free governance, trust is awakened in the people and people also lend their support to the system and this has been seen in Jammu and Kashmir as well. The Prime Minister said that there will be political differences between us, but all should work in the national interest so that the people of Jammu and Kashmir benefit.

Muzaffar Hussain Beg of the People's Conference said that the meeting was held in a very cordial and positive atmosphere. We all agreed to work for a democratic process. The Prime Minister listened to all the leaders very quietly. Almost all the leaders demanded the restoration of full statehood of Jammu and Kashmir. The Prime Minister has promised to hold assembly elections. But no fixed time has been stated for it.

The meeting, convened by the Prime Minister, includes four former chief ministers of the former state of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah and his son Omar Abdullah from the National Conference, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti. Other leaders included four former deputy chief ministers, including Congress' Tarachand, People's Conference leader Muzaffar Hussain Beg and BJP's Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta. The meeting was also attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha and Minister of State for PMO Jitendra Singh.
