Petrol-diesel prices up 52 times this year: Priyanka

The Congress on Friday lashed out at the Center over the issue of petrol and diesel price hike in the country. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that while people were "cutting their stomachs" during the Koro epidemic crisis, the Narendra Modi government was busy filling their pockets. People are hoping for some relief from the government amid the Corona crisis, but the government is planning to ‘inflict pain’ on them. Petrol and diesel prices have been increased 52 times in the country so far in 2021. Prices of mustard oil, tur, mug dal and sugar have also gone up. Opposition Congress has demanded that the Center reduce the excise duty on petrol and diesel, saying that the states could also reduce their VAT if the Center reduced it. Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, said that there would be hardly a day this year when petrol and diesel prices would not go up. The government is raising petrol and diesel prices every day.
