Petrol-diesel prices rose again after a one-day break

Petrol and diesel prices were hiked again today after a one-day break. According to a price notification issued by state-owned oil marketing companies, the price of a liter of petrol has been hiked by 8 paise and diesel by 20 paise today.

After today's price hike, the price of a liter of petrol in Delhi has gone up to Rs 2.31 and a liter of diesel to Rs 8.15. In Mumbai, the country's financial capital, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 102.50 while the price of a liter of diesel has gone up to Rs 7.5.

Today's price hike is the 9th since May 4. This is the 19th increase in June. In Chennai, the price of a liter of petrol has gone up to Rs 2.50 and a liter of diesel to Rs 7.5.

In Kolkata, the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 4.5. While the price of a liter of diesel has gone up to Rs 4.05. As the rate of VAT on petrol and diesel varies from state to state, the price of petrol and diesel varies from state to state.

Rajasthan currently has the highest rate of VAT. After Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have higher VAT rates. In metro cities, the price of a liter of petrol has crossed Rs 100 in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. In Chennai too, the price of a liter of petrol has come close to Rs 100.

India imports 7% of its crude oil needs. As a result, the impact of international crude oil prices on petrol and diesel prices in the country has been felt. India also imports 5% of its gas.
