India's strength will increase at sea, the US will provide 3 MH-60 helicopters in July

After waiting for more than a decade, the Indian Navy will receive the first set of multi-role helicopters from the US. The US will deliver three MH-60 Romeo helicopters to the Indian Navy in July. For this, a team of Indian pilots has already reached the US so that they can undergo flight related training.

India and the US signed an agreement worth Rs 16,000 crore in 2020 for 24 MH-60 Romeo helicopters. The helicopter is to be purchased from Lockheed Martin. According to Navy sources, a team of Indian pilots is currently in the US for training on helicopters. We will get three helicopters from America in July.

According to sources, the pilots will first be trained in the US state of Florida, then they will arrive in San Diego, California.

This helicopter will be equipped with sophisticated weapons

The 24 MH-60 Romeo helicopters that India has signed with the US will also include multi-mode radar and night-vision devices. It will also be equipped with Hellfire missiles, torpedoes and other weapons. This helicopter will replace the Sea-Kings in the Navy. These helicopters can also be operated from small warships, destroyers, cruises and aircraft carriers.
