If pizza-burgers can be home-delivered, why not rations?

New delhi date. 6

A day after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi claimed that the Center had blocked its door-to-door delivery of rations, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alleged that the Center had taken the decision under the influence of the ration mafia. Asking one more sharp question, he said, "If pizza-burgers, smart phones, home delivery of clothes can be done, why not rations?"

Accusing the Center of being lenient with Delhi, Kejriwal said the plan to deliver door-to-door rations in Delhi was to start from this week, but was stopped by the Center two days ago. The center says, you did not get approval for this. However for this scheme we got approval not once but five times. Legally we did not have to seek approval for this scheme but we did so out of courtesy. Why shouldn't home delivery of rations be done? If you stand with the ration mafia, who will stand with the poor? What will happen to the 3 million poor whose rations are stolen by this ration mafia.

Kejriwal said that the people of the country have been falling prey to ration mafias for the last three years. When I raised my voice against them 15 years ago, we were attacked three times. Then I swore that sometimes I would make this system the same. This is why the door-to-door ration scheme was devised. He said the central government was fighting West Bengal, Jharkhand and Maharashtra at this time of trouble and appealed not to stop the scheme.

The central government has denied Kejriwal's claim. The Center said the Delhi government could distribute rations in any way. We have not stopped them. On the contrary, we have shown readiness to provide extra rations to the Delhi government.
