After a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti again raised the issue of Article 30. He said the government should also talk to Pakistan. Kashmiris are satisfied when there is a discussion with Pakistan. Even before the meeting, the PDP president had emphasized on dialogue with Pakistan.

After the meeting with the Prime Minister, Mehbooba Mufti said that the Government of India had illegally removed Article 30 of the Constitution. No people's representative was spoken to at the time. In one fell swoop, its strength was snatched from Jammu and Kashmir. After August 3, 2016, the people of the state are dressed and feel exploited. Article 30 ensures our employment, land rights. We do not accept any explanation with him. We will continue to protest democratically.

Mehbooba said the meeting with the Prime Minister was held in a good atmosphere. In my view, if there can be a ceasefire with Pakistan, other issues should also be discussed. Even before the meeting with the Prime Minister, he said that Pakistan was also a party to the Kashmir issue and talks should be held with it. However, after Mehbooba's statement, people in Jammu on Thursday took to the streets with the tricolor and staged demonstrations chanting slogans against Mehbooba Mufti. An organization called Dogra Front in Jammu also demanded that Mehbooba be jailed over the issue.
