New Delhi: The lowest number of new cases of corona have come to light in two months. 1.20 lakh cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. A further 3380 people have been killed. At present, the total number of corona cases in the country has reached 2.86 crore. The total death toll has reached 3.44 lakh. Active cases have been below 20 lakh for the fifth day in a row.

Currently, the number of active cases has come down to 15.55 lakh. The country's current recovery rate has risen to 93.08 per cent. States are now easing lockdowns and sanctions as new cases of corona are drastically reduced.

Metro is being re-launched in Delhi and only 50 per cent passengers will be allowed to travel in it so that social distance can be observed. Markets and malls in Delhi will be opened from the 7th under the Eki Beki scheme.

Along with Delhi, lockdowns and sanctions will be eased in Maharashtra from June 7. Maharashtra will launch five level plans from June 7. In which concessions will be given on the basis of weekly positivity rate. Corona cases are declining in the northeastern and western states while corona cases are still coming up in large numbers in some parts of the southern and eastern states.

As a result, the lockdown in Tamil Nadu has been extended till June 14 instead of being lifted. In Karnataka too, the lockdown was extended till June 14. Experts, meanwhile, say children are also at risk of contracting the corona virus, although very few children have been hospitalized after contracting the corona.

This means that children can be infected with the virus but the lethal effect of the infection in them is much less compared to people of other ages. This information was given by the Executive Board Member of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), R. Somasekar. He said only one or two per cent of children had to be hospitalized due to the corona virus.
