Serum sought permission from the government to manufacture Russia's Sputnik vaccine in India

New Delhi: In the last 24 hours, 1.34 lakh new cases of corona have come to light. A further 2887 people have been killed. The total number of cases in Corona has reached 2.84 crore. While the daily positivity rate has come down to 6.21 per cent.

So far, the death toll from the corona has reached 3.37 lakh. While Corona's active cases have now come to 17 lakh. Meanwhile, more than 9,000 children in India have lost their mothers and fathers in Corona.

21.59 lakh tests of Corona were done in a single day. With this, the total number of tests has reached 35.37 crore. The daily positivity rate has come down to 6.21 per cent. The positivity rate has reached below 10 per cent for 10 consecutive days.

So far, 2.63 crore people have recovered from Corona. While the daily mortality rate fell again to 1.19 per cent. Russia's Sputnik vaccine, on the other hand, could be manufactured in India to speed up the vaccination campaign.

The Covishield vaccine is currently being produced by the Serum Institute. The institute has also told the government that it now wants to produce its own Russian Sputnik vaccine. The Serum Institute has sought approval for the production of Sputnik vaccine in India. It has also been demanded that the production and testing of this vaccine be entrusted to the Serum Institute in India.

Serum has also partnered with the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Moscow, to produce the vaccine. Currently, Serum has sought permission from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) to produce the Sputnik V vaccine.

The government, on the other hand, has issued new guidelines to protect children from corona. States, District Magistrates, Police, Panchayat Raj Institutions, etc. have been held accountable as per the guidelines issued especially for the children who have become orphans from Corona.

Meanwhile, according to the data released, 9346 children in the country have lost one of their two mothers while 1700 children have lost both their parents.

The figures were given to the Supreme Court by the National Commission for the Protection of the Rights of the Child. The complete information of such children from their economic status will be collected which is also included in the new guideline. The government will later provide assistance to these children.
