54,069 new cases of corona in the country: 1321 more deaths

A further 64.89 lakh people were vaccinated and the number of vaccinators increased to over 30 crore

New Delhi: The total number of cases registered in India today has risen to 3,00,82,778 with 54,069 new cases being registered. The death toll from the corona has risen to 3,91,981 with a further 1,321 deaths, the health ministry said in a statement.

The number of active cases in the country has also come down to 6,27,057 which is 2.08 per cent of the total cases. In the last 24 hours, 64.89 lakh people have been vaccinated in the country, bringing the total number of vaccinators to 30.16 crore.

At the same time, the number of vaccinators in the country has crossed 30 crore. The daily positivity rate fell to 2.91 per cent. The positivity rate has been below five per cent for the last 17 days. The weekly positivity rate has also come down to 3.04 per cent.

A total of 18,59,469 corona were tested in the country in the last 24 hours out of which 54,069 cases came positive. Out of 1321 deaths in the last 24 hours, the highest death toll was 508 in Maharashtra, 166 in Tamil Nadu, 150 in Kerala and 123 in Karnataka.

More than 1 million people aged 18 to 44 in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, according to the health ministry.
