UP: Firing in Chitrakoot jail, killing of 2 including Mukhtar's personal person, gangster also piled up in encounter


- Anshu Dixit held 5 prisoners hostage after killing Mukim Kala and Meraj Ali

A firing incident has taken place in Chitrakoot jail in Uttar Pradesh. It was learned that there was a shootout between the two groups in the jail and 2 thugs were killed inside the jail. One of the thugs killed was a special man of Bahubali MLA Mukhtar Ansari. The killer gangster has been killed in an encounter by prison police.

It is learned that Anshu Dixit, a major gangster from Purvanchal, who was recently shifted from Sultanpur Jail to Chitrakoot Jail, opened fire on Friday afternoon. It is learned that Mukim Kala and Meraj, who were lodged in Chitrakoot jail, were killed in the firing. Mukim Kala was an award-winning gangster from western Uttar Pradesh. While Meraj Bahubali was a special man of MLA Mukhtar Ansari.

After the assassination of Munna Bajrangi, Meraj Bahubali became a special man of MLA Mukhtar Ansari. Top officials of the administration and a team of police rushed to the spot after the incident of firing in the jail. Meanwhile, a shootout was reported between Anshu Dixit and the police team in which Anshu was killed.

5 prisoners held hostage after murder

According to the Chitrakoot administration, Anshu Dixit had taken five prisoners hostage after killing Mukim Kala and Meraj Ali. Anshu, meanwhile, urged the prison administration to release the prisoners but Anshu refused. Later, there was a clash between the police and Anshu in which Anshu was killed and is currently being checked in the jail.

Meraj surrendered in Varanasi

Meraj Munna was considered an active member of Bajrangi's gang. On September 3, 2020, a case was registered against Meraj at Jaitpura police station for tampering with the renewal of firearms licenses. Meraj had earlier absconded and later surrendered at Varanasi police station.
