The country will have a shortage of corona vaccine till July, Adar Poonawala admits

New Delhi, May 3, 2021

Doctors say the vaccine is the only weapon in the country to fight the coronary heart disease and that is why people are rushing to get the vaccine now, said Serum Institute CEO Adar Poonawala.

The Corona virus has created a situation where hospitals do not have the necessary equipment and on the other hand, vaccines are also in short supply. It will take until July to make a million.

At present, the central government has allowed people above the age of 18 to be vaccinated, but now there is a shortage of vaccines, which is why many people want to get the vaccine but cannot afford it, Poonawala said. At that time, new cases were declining. Everyone seemed to think that the country had beaten the first wave of Corona.

Defending himself, Poonawala said, "There was an attempt by politicians and critics to discredit the Serum Institute. We did not have any orders before. We did not think we would make one billion vaccines a year."

Meanwhile, Poonawala, who is currently on her way to Britain, has announced that she will return to India soon.
