New Delhi, May 1, 2021

The government is now enlisting the help of corporate companies in the ongoing battle against Corona in the country. Tata, Adani and now Reliance have also come forward to alleviate the oxygen shortage.

Reliance Industries Ltd. has increased the supply of medical oxygen from the Jamnagar refinery to various states. The Jamnagar refinery is currently producing and supplying more than 1000 tons of medical oxygen daily. This oxygen is being sent to the states affected by the corona free of cost.

Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani is overseeing oxygen production. The refinery has increased oxygen production to 1,000 tonnes and can meet the needs of one lakh people. Reliance is producing 11 per cent of India's total oxygen production. However, considering the need, the production has been increased to 300 tons.

This is the second petrochemical product in the Reliance refinery, but after the demand for oxygen in the country, the refinery has now produced 0 to 1000 tonnes of medical oxygen in a matter of days. So far, the refinery has supplied 55,000 tonnes of medical oxygen.

Reliance has also ordered 24 tankers from abroad to address the problem of oxygen transportation.
