Petrol price hiked by 3 paise and diesel by 3 paise in three days in the country

Petrol and diesel prices have gone up for the third day in a row after the completion of five state elections in the country. On Thursday, petrol price was hiked by 3 paise per liter and diesel by 20 paise per liter. State-owned oil companies had suspended fuel prices for 15 days due to elections in five states, including West Bengal. Following the election results, state-owned oil companies have begun to pass on the burden of higher international crude oil prices to consumers.

In the last three days, petrol prices have gone up by 3 paise and diesel by 4 paise. The price hike has washed away most of the declines that occurred between March 8 and April 18.
