The Bharatiya Janata Party has lost the Bengal Assembly elections. Outraged after the defeat, BJP leader Babul Supriyo has said he will not greet Mamata Banerjee. At the same time, this mandate has been called a historic mistake. He expressed his sentiments through a Facebook post that was mocked by former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
"No, I will not greet Mamata Banerjee, nor will I say that I respect the mandate," Babul Supriyo wrote. By not giving a chance to the BJP, the people of Bengal have made a historic mistake by bringing this corrupt, incompetent government and a cruel woman back to power. "Yes, as a law-abiding citizen, I will abide by the decisions made by the people in a democratic country," he added. Supriyo later deleted that post.
Omar Abdullah shared a screenshot of his Facebook post and joked. "Try further and don't become a rotten child," he wrote. His tweet received many retweets and thousands of people liked it.

It may be mentioned that Babul Supriyo is one of the 4 MPs who were fielded by the BJP in the Assembly elections. He contested from Tollygunge and challenged TMC's Arup Biswas. However, he was disappointed and Biswas defeated him by a margin of more than 50,000 votes.
